bio
After completing an MA in History of Art and Psychology at the University of St Andrews, Mal ran one of the largest theatres on the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Directing and writing theatre works in San Diego, California, he returned to London and became a post producer for the BBC. On recently starting his directing career, from a standing start, he has achieved:
• 3 world premières at Palm Springs in two years
• 2 films selected in consecutive years at the Festival du Cinéma Franco-Britannique
• 2 films accepted into the British Council Short Film Promotion Scheme
• a New Director showcase in UK creative bible Shots
• a short film sold and regularly broadcast on PBS in the United States
